I learned to sew from many strong Athabascan Women. I have been fortunate to learn to sew from my mother Ann Fisher, my grandmother Charlotte Adams and many others. Minnie Salmon and Nora Billy also taught me a lot. I am so thankful for all the wisdom that they have shared with me over the years. I have a great respect for the women of the Yukon Flats. I am proud to teach my four daughters, Shelby, Julia, Allyson and Shani, our culture and heritage. I hope in the years to come they enjoy beadwork and skin sewing as much as I do.
This is a picture of me and my girls, Shelby and Julia are in the back and Allyson and Shani are beside me.
